There is certainly wisdom in “disciplining” ourselves to read the Bible, but if the Bible becomes a chore, we risk forming negative attitudes towards scripture and feeling distant from God. We eagerly hope that your motivation to complete this reading plan will come from your desire for Jesus and his Kingdom, and to experience his closeness and warmth. The spiritual powers of darkness want nothing more than to convince you that the Bible is tiresome, boring, and irrelevant. May God grant you the grace to follow your desire for him.
